dreamy floral recipes…

If you know me well, you already know how much I love floral scents and tastes. Floral tasting recipes aren’t for everyone, but they can add a lovely twist to baking and other recipes. Here are a few of my favourite flower-infused recipes plus one skin care recipe using floral essential oils!

Let me know how you like them…

Spa Water with orange blossom & basil

Feel more relaxed and increase your water intake by adding 1/2 tsp of culinary orange blossom water with some fresh basil leaves into a pitcher of water – a touch of floral and a touch of spice from the basil!

Vegan rose petal & cardamom ice cream (with white chocolate chips)

This recipe uses the Ninja Creami ice cream maker (impulse purchase #253) – take a can of full-fat coconut milk and whisk in 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 tsp culinary rosewater, and a sprinkle of cardamom. Freeze according to directions (I froze for 6 hours in our deep freeze…never as long as recommended), and process! Add in the chocolate chips.

Dark chocolate bark with lavender flowers and mint leaves

Melt dark chocolate in the microwave, stirring often. In a separate bowl, melt some white chocolate chips. On a parchment lined cookie tray, pour out the dark chocolate and then blend in the melted white chocolate, swirling with the tip of a knife. Sprinkle with lavender flowers and chopped mint leaves then refrigerate until the bark can be broken into pieces.

Floral Sugar Scrub

Perfect for exfoliating body skin! Mix together 2.5 tbsp liquid coconut oil, 1 cup granulated cane sugar, and 3 drops ylang ylang oil and 2 drops of lavender oil. I also added some blended dried lavender flowers (blended as not to create a huge mess in the shower!). Tree Hut sugar scrub eat your heart out!
